Orthopedics

The loss of even one tooth is an imbalance of the entire dentition, which can lead to negative consequences:

  • Incorrect chewing food
  • gum and bone atrophy
  • dentition displacement
  • temporomandibular joint change

In the end, aesthetics is disrupted. Therefore, having lost a tooth, it is necessary to undergo orthopedic treatment. In our clinic, the concept of aesthetic prosthetics is prosthetics as a whole. Accordingly, everything that is manufactured in the IMATEK DENT clinic is highly aesthetic designs, because beauty and aesthetics are the dictates of the time.

Types of dental prosthesis in the dental clinic
Dentures and crowns from zirconium oxide

Zircon is one of the oldest and most common minerals in the earth’s crust. From this chemical element, zirconia is obtained – a high-tech material that has been used in world surgery and dentistry for more than 20 years. Now it is possible to use it in dentistry.

Unlike porcelain fused metals, zirconia is a more biocompatible material that demonstrates the best characteristics necessary for the manufacture of modern dentures:

  • high light transmission;
  • individual recreation of the color of the patient’s teeth;
  • lack of a dark border;
  • complete absence of metal;
  • extremely high strength;
  • durability and aesthetics.

The zirconium construction looks so natural that even a dentist, upon examination, may not see it in the oral cavity. One can only rejoice for the future owners of zirconium prostheses, the existence of which, in the oral cavity, no one will ever guess – because they are similar to the patients’ own ones.

The light shade of zirconium crowns avoids the appearance of dark borders, which often appear in dentures on the metal core during gum retreat as a result of age-related changes. The acid-resistant and non-porous material of zirconium crowns prevents the absorption of toxic substances, prevents the development of periodontal disease and contributes to the quick and easy cleaning of prostheses.

Excellent fit accuracy thanks to the CAD/ CAM 5M system and excellent technological properties of the material guarantee patients a sense of comfort. Zirconia is a material in which metal is completely absent. According to existing scientific studies, zirconium crowns do not cause allergies or signs of incompatibility in the oral cavity. In addition, zirconia is biocompatible with the mucous membrane and tissues of the oral cavity, and also has a sparing effect on the nerves, as it has lower thermal conductivity compared to metal-based dentures.

Besides, a simple cleaning procedure prevents the occurrence of periodontal disease. A properly executed dental design of a zirconia prosthesis is an investment forever. Due to the extremely high hardness and density of the material, this prosthesis withstands maximum chewing loads in various parts of the oral cavity, is not subject to wear and, therefore, discoloration.

Optical identity of natural teeth, durability and wearing comfort – whether it is a crown or a bridge of long length – zirconia meets all the highest requirements for the quality and durability of the denture. In addition, the teeth after the prosthetics procedure acquire a healthy and well-groomed appearance.

Dentures from porcelain fused metal

The most common type of fixed prostheses today is porcelain fused metal. Porcelain fused metal combines the strength properties of metals and the aesthetic properties of ceramics, has been used for more than 30 years. Today, porcelain fused metal is one of the safest, most inexpensive and therefore popular types of prosthetics for fixed teeth. Most of all in its characteristics, it resembles the enamel of real teeth. In addition, in comparison with other methods of installing prostheses, this one is one of the best and most effective. However, in some properties, it is inferior to zirconium crowns.

Prosthetics with metalless crowns

With the help of porcelain-fused metals, it is possible to achieve the ideal condition of the teeth, which in their characteristics are close to natural. Moreover, both aesthetic and performance characteristics will be excellent. The teeth are prepared for the installation of the crown, and then the porcelain-fused metals are tightly fixed to them as tightly as possible, which means that tooth decay with this approach will not occur. In addition, this material has a long service life. However, what you must learn for your own safety – only experienced professionals should do prosthetics.

Progress in dentistry does not stand still, and what once seemed to be the pinnacle of perfection in the desire to create a dental prosthesis that is as close as possible to a natural tooth, today has a worthy alternative in the form of metalless ceramics.

Ceramic materials during prosthetics are biocompatible with oral tissues, allow you to restore (or if necessary, change) the shape of the teeth, working within the enamel layer (0.3-0.7 mm) using porcelain veneers.

Using ceramics based on zirconia frameworks, it is possible to repair defects in the dentition, as well as minimally injure the tooth tissue during processing, and the result is a high-strength construction and an aesthetic effect comparable to natural teeth.

There is no doubt that if there were an “ideal recipe for all diseases” on earth, there would not be such a variety of treatment options, but it is this variety that allows us to make an individual decision for each patient, taking into account his/her wishes.

Single dental crown

If in the row of healthy teeth, there is one problematic, then in this case a single dental crown will be relevant. A dental crown is usually worn on a badly damaged tooth, which can no longer be repaired. If such a tooth is not strengthened with a crown in time, then it will simply be lost, and it will be necessary to talk about a more complex and expensive implantation operation.

Bridge

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. A bridge is only installed when strong healthy teeth are located on both sides of the gap. For fixing the bridge to adjacent (abutment) teeth, fixing elements are used – special crowns. Before installing the crowns, the supporting teeth are usually steamed. This is one of the main disadvantages of prosthetics using a bridge. In modern dentistry, there is an alternative to the bridge – tooth implantation.

Implants

For prosthetics of missing teeth in modern orthopedics, dental implants are used as supports. A dental implant is an artificial root implanted in the jaw. Either crowns or dentures, both fixed and removable, are attached to them. The crowns themselves can be made of porcelain fused metal, zirconium oxide, or other modern materials.

With all the advantages of prosthetics based on dental implants, the cost of such treatment is a question that often worries patients.

Veneers

Veneers is a thin ceramic lining covering the visible part of the tooth and very precisely adjacent to it. Just as false nails adorn the hands of women, veneers make perfect tooth surfaces and adorn your smile. To install the veneer, a thin layer of tooth is removed and a high-precision impression is obtained from the prepared tooth. After manufacturing a ceramic enamel lining in its own dental laboratory, it adheres firmly to the tooth. This type of prosthetics requires a significant qualification from the doctor and a sense of taste.

Fixed dentures

If you have lost enough teeth in your mouth, you may be offered to make a fixed denture. Fixed dentures are more convenient and restore chewing function better than removable ones. Usually they are fixed on their remaining teeth or on implants (in the absence of the teeth). Fixed dentures differ in materials, designs, and price. Our dentist will first offer various options for prosthetics indicating the cost of their implementation. He/she will tell you in detail about the advantages and disadvantages of a particular option and individual dental prosthetics operations.

Removable dentures

Often there is a situation where patients have significant tooth loss and a fixed structure to fix in the mouth is no longer possible. Then it’s the turn of removable dentures. In addition, they are usually cheaper than non-removable.

Removable structures are full (when there are no teeth) and partial (in the presence of separate teeth). Removable dentures are divided into laminar and clasp (arch or leaning). In the latter, a significant part of the plastic base of the prosthesis is replaced by a metal arc.

Clasp dentures transmit a chewing load not only to the gums and bone tissue of the jaws, but also to the abutment teeth through special devices – clamers. Clamers can be metal or plate.
Removable laminar prostheses rely only on the alveolar ridge.
Although it is necessary to realize that never a removable prosthesis will not be so well fixed in the oral cavity as a fixed structure. If you are not satisfied with the removable structure in the oral cavity, and most of the teeth are gone, then you will be offered the possibility of implantation.

Our clinic makes high-precision zirconium crowns by using the zirkonzahn cad/cam milling unit m5 system, the application of which will allow you to offer our patients dental prostheses with excellent aesthetic appearance and quality, and also the highest precision.
